We are looking for an engineer with expertise in HR and office systems to help write API prompts for human resources use cases.
Your experience designing and supporting digital infrastructure for human resources, internal operations, and workplace coordination will ensure each prompt and response reflects how real-world engineers help teams manage people, processes, and administrative systems. You’ll help shape how AI understands employee lifecycle workflows, office support tools, and productivity systems—ideally including experience integrating HRIS platforms, automating internal workflows, or managing system access controls via APIs.
You are a good fit if you:
Have over 3+ years of professional experience supporting or developing tools for HR operations, internal IT systems, or office administration workflows
Have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Technology, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
Are currently based in the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, UK, or Australia
Have worked on platforms such as Workday, BambooHR, ADP, SAP SuccessFactors, or Microsoft 365
Have experience with supporting workflows related to employee onboarding, leave tracking, document automation, calendar management, or digital form processing
Can clearly document systems and communicate effectively with both HR teams and end users
Role Highlights
Flexible workload: 10–20 hours per week, with potential to increase to 40 hours.
Fully remote and asynchronous—work on your own schedule.
Minimum duration: 1–2 months, with potential for extension.
Role Start Date
This role will begin in mid to late-August with applications reviewed on a rolling basis.
Interview Process
You will take an AI interview where you will be asked questions about your background in HR systems, administrative tooling, and internal process support.
You will share your screen and write a detailed prompt to generate an AI response about a scenario such as automating an onboarding checklist, syncing employee data, or troubleshooting calendar integration for executive support.
You will evaluate and compare LLM outputs to determine which response is more effective and accurate.
Applicants will be selected based on their performance in the AI interview and on the accuracy and quality of their evaluations.
Compensation and Legal Details
You will be legally classified as an hourly contractor for Mercor
We will pay you out at the end of each week via Stripe Connect
We consider all qualified applicants without regard to legally protected characteristics and provide reasonable accommodations upon request.
